Velvet Crumb Cake

"Refrigerator Cake"

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cup bisquick
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 TBSP butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • whipping cream
  • bananas
  • maraschino cherries

Steps
  1. Mix ingredients together and beat 4 minutes. Bake in greased and floured cake pan. Cool.
  2. Frost bottom layer with whipping cream that is stiff.
  3. Cut banana slices and top with whipping cream.
  4. Place 2nd layer on top and frost with remaining whipped cream.
  5. Decorate with maraschino cherries cut into half to make a flour on top of cake and on sides.
  6. This is an icebox cake and is better the 2nd day.
Tips
I always made this for february - Valentine's Day.
For high altitudes: use 1 1/3 cup bisquick, 2/3 cup milk, 1/3 cup flour. Bake at 375° for 30 minutes. "I cooked it normal and couldn't tell a difference."
