Texas Fudge Cake

Ingredients
  • 2 cubes margarine
  • 1 cup water
  • 4 TBSP cocoa
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 cup milk

  • Frosting:
  • 1 cube margarine
  • 4 TBSP cocoa
  • 6 TBSP milk (regular or canned)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 pkg powdered sugar (2 lbs. or 3/4 cup unsifted)
  • chopped nut (optional)

Steps
  1. Bring margarine, water, and cocoa to boil.
  2. Mix together flour, sugar, and salt.
  3. Pour #1 mixture over #2 mixture. Mix well.
  4. Add eggs, soda, and vanilla. Mix.
  5. Add milk (can add additional flour if too runny).
  6. Mix well and bake in greased and floured pan (9x13") 375° for 30 minutes or until done.
  7. Frosting:
  8. Bring margarine, cocoa, milk, and vanilla to boil; then add powdered sugar.
  9. Mix well until creamy and pour over hot cake.
  10. Can sprinkle top with chopped nuts.
