- 1 cup sour milk = 1 cup milk + 1 TBSP vinegar or lemon juice
- 1 cup sour cream = 7/8 cup buttermilk or sour milk + 3 TBSP butter
- 1 cup sour cream = 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 tsp sugar = 1/8 tsp noncaloric sweetener
- 1 cup sugar = 1/2 cup maple syrup + 1/4 cup corn syrup (lessen liquid in recipe by 2 TBSP)
- 1 cup sugar = 1 cup honey (lessen liquid in recipe by 1/4 cup)
- 1 cup light brown sugar = 1 cup granulated sugar + 1/4 cup unsulphered it. molasses
- 1 cup dark brown sugar = 1 cup granulated sugar + 1/2 cup unsulphered it. molasses
