Sourdough Bread

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cup sourdough batter
  • 2 cups lukewarm water
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 TBSP salt
  • 3 TBSP melted butter
  • 6 cups flour

Steps
  1. COmbine sourdough batter, water, sugar, salt, and butter. Stir together.
  2. Gradually add flour. Knead on floured board about 5 minutes.
  3. Place in greased bowl - rise 1 hour.
  4. Punch down. Rise anoth hours.
  5. Divide dough in half. Place in greased loaf pans.
  6. Let rise 4 hours. Bake 375° 40-45 minutes until lightly brown.
  7. Cool on wire rack. Serve hot.
  8. Makes 2 loaves
