"Old Recipe"

Ingredients
  • 3 3/4 cups sugar
  • 1 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp flavoring oil
  • desired food coloring

Steps
  1. Sprinkling 18x24" strip of heavy duty aluminum foil with powdered sugar.
  2. Mix first 3 ingredients in large heavy saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
  3. Boil without stirring until temperature reaches 310° or until drops of syrup form hard brittle thread in cold water.
  4. Remove from heat.
  5. Pour flat. Cool. Break into pieces.
  6. Store in airtight container.
