Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vinegar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/2 cups cake flour
- 1 tsp soda
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 (1 5/8 oz.) red food coloring
- Filling and Icing:
- 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
- 1 box powdered sugar
- 1 stick butter
- 1 cup nuts (chopped)
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Steps
- Boil oil and sugar together. Blend in eggs, vinegar, and vanilla.
- Sift flour and soda. Add creamed mixture.
- Blend well. Add buttermilk and food coloring. Beat well.
- Bake 350° for 25 minutes in greased and floured pans. Makes 3 layers.
- Filling and Icing:
- Allow ingredients to come to room temperature. Blend well.
- Spread on cooled cake.
