Old Fashioned Raisin Cake

Ingredients
2 cups raisins
2 cups water
4 cups flour
1 TBSP baking soda
1 TBSP cocoa
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp salt
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cloves
1 cup oil
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups sugar
1 cup nuts (chopped)
Icing - similar to Virginia Fudge
1/2 square margarine
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
1/4 can milk
vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar (or more)

Steps
Boil raisins and 1 cup of water together for 15 minutes. Cool and add 1 cup cold water.
Sift together all dry ingredients.
Add oil, vanilla, sugar, and nuts to raisin and water mixture.
Add dry ingredients to raisins. Mix well.
Bake at 350° got 40 minutes.
Makes 3 small loaves or 1 large 9x13x2" pan (bake 1 hour - test before time comes up)
Icing:
Cook margarine, sugar, and milk together until dissolved.
Add vanilla and then pour over powdered sugar.
Beat smooth. Will thicken as it cools. If too thick, add more milk. Spread over cakes.
