Old English Trifle

"Fabulous Feast"

Ingredients
  • 1 yellow cake mix + ingredients on pkg
  • 1 large (6 oz.) pkg strawberry jello
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 (16 oz.) okg frozen strawberries - semi-thawed
  • 1 large (6 oz.) pkg vanilla instant pudding
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 2 TBSP sugar

Steps
  1. Mix and bake cake mix. After cake is cool, break 1 cake into 2 to 3 pieces (save other cake round for other purpose).
  2. Put cake pieces in bottom of trifle bowl. Dissolve jellow in boiling water. Cool and refridgerate until thick and syrupy. Stir in semi-thawed strawberries.
  3. Pour over cake pieces. Refridferate 1 hour or until firm.
  4. Cover with fresh strawberry slices.
  5. Second layer: prepare vanilla pudding according to package directions, but using only 2 cups milk. Pour over strawberry jello and sliced strawberries. Refridgerate for 30 minutes or until firm.
  6. Third layer: whip cream unti lstuff. Stir in sugar. Spread over the top of first two layers.
  7. Refridgerate and serve.
  8. Excellent!
