J.W.'s Famous Fudge

Ingredients
  • 1 lb powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1/4 cup whole milk or half and half
  • 1 TBSP vanilla
  • nuts, if desired (macademian, walnuts, pecans, etc.)

Steps
  1. Sift powdered sugar and cocoa into large microwaveable bowl.
  2. Place butter on mountain of sugar/cocoa mixture and pour milk or half and half over butter.
  3. Microwave for 2 - 2 1/2 minutes (almost melt butter).
  4. Pull out immediately and stir vigorously to get out all lumps.
  5. While stirring, pour in vanilla. Can add nuts, if desired.
  6. When it begins to thicken and all lumps are gone, pour fudge into baking tin (approx. 8x8") and flatten into corners.
  7. Put into freezer for one hour and then move to fridge until cutting or for a few hours.
