Crispy Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 bag puffed rice (6-16 oz. bag, depending upon how carmelized you want it)
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 2 sticks margarine/butter
  • 1 3/4 cups karo syrup
  • 1 can Eagle brand sweet condensed milk

Steps
  1. Bring brown sugar, margarine/butter, and karo syrup to a boil for 3 minutes. Remove from heat.
  2. Add condensed milk. Boil 3 additional minutes.
  3. Pour over puffed rice - mix well.
  4. Spray pam into mold (1st time only). Fill molds with mixture.
  5. Remove immediately from mold. Place on wax paper.
  6. Seal in plastic wrap.
  7. Can spread out flat on sprayed cookie sheet, cut into squares.
  8. Variations:
  9. - popcorn for puffed rice (1 1/2 to 1 1/2 cup uncooked popcorn)
  10. - can substitute rice crispies
  11. - can mix popcorn and rice together
  12. - can add 2 squares unsweetened chocolate before condensed milk
  13. - can use chocolate chips, red hots, or food coloring for decoration
