Cinnamon Rolls

Ingredients
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2/3 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup butter
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 eggs (beaten)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 6 1/2 cups flour
  • 3 yeast cakes (or 3 packets dry yeast)
  • For topping:
  • 2 cups sugar
  • cinnamon
  • nuts
  • raisins

Steps
  1. Soften yeast cakes in 3/4 cup warm water or bloom dry yeast.
  2. Scald milk, sugar, butter, and salt. Cool to room temperature.
  3. Add eggs, yeast, vanilla, and flour. Stir but do not knead.
  4. Roll out 1/4 inch thick. Cover with melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, nuts, and raisins.
  5. Roll as jelly roll and cut into 1/2 inch thick pieces. Place on cookie sheet.
  6. Let rise until double.
  7. Frost with icing and sprinkle with nuts.

I cut dough in half before rolling out
