Christmas Snowball Cookies

Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1 cup walnuts or pecans - chopped
  • powdered sugar

Steps
  1. Mix butter with sugar until creamy. Add vanilla, flour, and nuts; mix well.
  2. Wrap in waxed paper and chill thoroughly.
  3. Using fingers, shape into 1" balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheet.
  4. Bake 300° for 30 minutes.
  5. Remove from oven - roll in powdered sugar or sugar crystal sugar while still hot.
  6. Place on rack and cool. When cool, roll again in sugar.
  8. These cookies keep well in tightly covered container - if hidden. Makes 2 dozen.
