Christmas Jewel Cake

Ingredients
  • 1 pkg. white/yellow Duncan Hines Cake Mix
  • 3 (10 oz) pkgs. frozen strawberries or raspberries in syrup
  • 2 pkgs. danish dessert
  • 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 pint heavy cream (whipped)
  • water

Steps
  1. Make cake mix as directed and divide batter equally into two 13x9" cake pans. Bake 375° 15-20 minutes.
  2. Drain the berries. Make the danish dessert using syrup from berries as part of the liquid. When thickened, add in the berries.
  3. Beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar. Fold in 2/3 whipped cream.
  4. Spread on the cakes. Spread the danish dessert over this layer. Chill.
  5. To serve: garnish each piece with a dollop of remaining whipped cream and a holly leaf, summer mint leaf, or maraschino cherry
