Chocolate Drop Cookies

2 1/2 dozen
Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 3/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 sp salt
  • 1/2 tsp soda
  • 1/2 cup sour milk (1 1/2 tsp vinegar in milk)
  • 2 10 oz. squares unsweetened chocolate (melted)
  • 1/2 cup walnuts (chopped)

Steps
  1. Cream fat, sugar, and egg. Add vanilla and chocoalte.
  2. Blend well and add dry ingredeints, alternately with milk.
  3. Add nuts.
  4. Drop from teaspoonful 2" apart on greased cookie sheet.
  5. Bake 350° for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown.
  6. While warm, frost. This makes the cookie.
  7. Makes 2 1/2 dozen.
